Leann Vaughn is thrilled to join our faculty this year. She serves as teacher for 3-5 Advisory, K-2 Math, 3-4 Language Arts, 4-5 Social Studies and After School Care Instructor.
Leann, a dedicated and passionate educator. She has spent over three decades shaping the minds of young learners in Kennedale, Texas. In 2023, after 31 years of dedicated service, Leann decided to retire from teaching in public education.
Born and raised with a love for education, Leann developed a fascination for teaching from an early age. She pursued her passion with unwavering determination, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Texas Wesleyan University. Her dedication and commitment to teaching excellence led her to continue her education, culminating in a Master's Degree in Educational Technology Leadership and Principal Certification from Lamar University.
Leann's teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child has a unique set of talents and capabilities waiting to be unlocked. Her classroom is a place where young minds are inspired to explore, question, and discover. Her unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and stimulating learning environment ensures that students of all abilities are provided with the tools and guidance they need to excel.
One of Leann's defining qualities is her expertise in identifying and nurturing gifted and talented students. Through specialized training and extensive experience, she has developed a keen eye for recognizing exceptional potential in young learners. Leann employs differentiated instruction strategies to tailor her curriculum to the unique needs of each student, ensuring that gifted and talented individuals are challenged and supported in equal measure.
Leann employs a dynamic and innovative teaching methodology that combines traditional instruction with the latest educational technologies. She incorporates project-based learning, hands-on activities, and creative problem-solving to engage her students and stimulate their intellectual curiosity. Her approach is not only educational but also motivational, encouraging students to reach their fullest potential.
Throughout her career, Leann has received numerous accolades and awards for her exceptional work in elementary education. She has been invited to speak at education conferences, publish articles on effective teaching methods, and serve as a mentor to fellow educators seeking to hone their skills.
Leann and her husband, along with two very vocal calico cats, reside in the Roanoke community. Leann loves being a part of the vital threads that encompass the city around her. Working at E. A. Young Academy is one of the most important parts of serving in the community that surrounds her family.
