Tracy Schraub is the E.A. Young Front Office Administrator, official greeter and school security attendant, an amateur-nurse-on-call and the “on-campus mom” when a crisis might arise during the school day. This is Mrs. Schraub’s third school year with E.A. Young Academy, and she loves the positive energy of our school culture and the excitement that working in the office adds to her daily life. One of her favorite quotes is, “Be who you needed when you were younger,” and this has remained a guiding principle in her life while raising her own children, serving students in her local school district and community, and now working with EAYA scholars every day.
Mrs. Schraub grew up in nearby North Richland Hills and attended schools in the Birdville School District, where as a student she participated in the gifted and talented program and established a love of learning. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications and majored in Radio-Television-Film. Upon graduation, she moved back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and worked for six years at Katz Media Corporation as a National Advertising Sales Executive representing television stations across the country.
Mrs. Schraub returned to her hometown to raise a family while also serving her school and church community in a variety of leadership and volunteer positions for the next two decades. For the many years of volunteerism spent in the BISD community, she was awarded a Texas PTA Honorary Lifetime Membership Award for Outstanding Service. After her son and daughter both graduated from high school and went on to attend her alma mater at the University of Texas, Mrs. Schraub decided it was time to embark on another new endeavor. Soon after, an employment opportunity at E.A. Young Academy entered the scene quite serendipitously and seemed to be a perfect fit for her passion for working with students, parents and teachers.
Mrs. Schraub has been happily married for over 26 years. She and her husband, who is also a loyal Longhorn, enjoy spending time with their grown children and dachshund, traveling the world or taking Texas road trips together, cheering on their favorite college football team, doing all kinds of outdoorsy activities and listening to live music every chance they get.
